Periodically take a few seconds to close your eyes and focus on your breath. Deep breathing is knwon to help any types of mental health disorders including stress and anxiety. It lets your distract yourself from your thoughts and refocus it onto your breathing.
Keep an eye on blood sugar levels, hydration, hunger and sleep quality. ADHD patients may face these above issues and it may trigger their mental health leading to mental breakdowns. This is why it is important to take note of whether they are leading a healthy lifestyle or not.
Have an exit plan to step away and regulate. If you or any other person is having a meltdown, you should have a strategy to regulate them or yourself.
Keep a calming scent nearby. Calming scents can be essential oils, hand lotion, sanitizer, partner’s clothes or any scent that has positive memories attached to it.

Limit all kinds of stimulation. Turn down monitor brightness, volume of TV or phone, reduce and dampen external noise, stop being overactive and multitasking.
